Project Type: Design & Build

Branding: AZ Business Ideas

Client: Golden Corporation Sdn Bhd

Our team was presented with the challenge of transforming an abandoned building into an innovative seafood showroom, retail store, and office that would appeal to both local customers and international distributors. The Hook.ed architectural intervention sought to showcase the available products while expanding customers’ knowledge and appreciation of seafood.

We designed a gallery-like space that took inspiration from the movements of the sea. The use of curved timber panels as the central feature was integral to creating a visually stimulating experience. These panels allowed us to configure the space into diverse environments, taking customers on a captivating “food journey” through oyster bars, product displays, food tastings, and dining areas. The resulting spatial qualities provided an immersive experience aimed at enhancing customers’ sensory engagement.

Our approach provided a new benchmark for seafood retail, one which stimulated customers’ perceptions, invigorated their senses and enriched their appreciation of the products. Through this project, we successfully repurposed an abandoned building and created a space that will attract and delight customers for years.
